What's wrong with my taper thread?

What's wrong with my taper thread?

What's wrong with my taper thread?

(OP)
I am studying UG NX. The sweep is really driving me crasy. As the attached image show, I have tried to use a rectangle as the section to make something like a taper thread.
But in any case, the section draft seems always rotate on its path. How to make it right?
Somebody please help me and tell me why. Any illustration picture will be appreciated.

RE: What's wrong with my taper thread?

Use the 'swept' command (not the sweep along guide command), for the orientation use 'vector direction' and choose the axis of your cylinder/helix.

RE: What's wrong with my taper thread?

I have attached an example of a swept, in this case I have used the face normals to ensure that the sweep stays oriented in the way I want, but you could equally use cylindrical centre line, datum axis or direction vector to achieve what you want to. smile
