(OP)
I'm trying to come up with a user friendly yet thorough software to offer students for calculation the most information for under drains and connected outlet conduits, as well as outlet controls. It is not part of the class, so I don't have time allotted to teach it, but this information would helpful in some projects, this portion I have been providing all of the information in the past. If anyone know of such a program, please let me know

RE: pipe software

A useful tool would be an assest to your students, is the student version of Computer Applications in Hydraulic Engineering by Haestad. Think the student cost is about $45US or $60 CAN. Comes with a manual and limited time version of flowmaster, culvert master, pondpack, stormcad and sewerCAD. The manual that comes with it is pretty solid as well and would not require alot of effort to teach the content as it's explained quite well.

Some free ware that may be useful, but would require some assistance... HY-8 for culverts, SWMM, HEC-Ras, TR-55..

Hope this helps.

RE: pipe software

EPA-SWMM is available for free and can do storm drain and some outlet calculations.  It also touches on the environmental aspects if you are interested in that.

However, it is not the easiest software to use and the GUI isn't the greatest.  For the purposes of a course, this may be a good platform to use as it also comes with comprehensive documentation that describes many of the parameters.

It does have some drawbacks which you will figure out quickly as you try to apply it practically.
