protective coatings on ACCU in coastal area's

protective coatings on ACCU in coastal area's

My equipment supplier sugests to put a blue fin coating on the Air Cooled Condensing Unit due to the fact that the units are installed close to the sea. Now I have got som experience with Blygold as protection, but I do not know anything about blue fin coating. I also have the feeling that this is a cheap protection for only a short period, because they try to reduce costs. But my question is has anybody got experience with blue fin coating and how does it behave in a coatal area, and is it better, equal or wors than a blygold treatment.
Thanks

best thing for smaller equipment is to use trane spine fin all aluminum condensers

will outlast any coating

the complete casing and compressor dome can rot away but the coil will still be intact

The way we build has a far greater impact on our comfort, energy consumption and IAQ, than any HVAC system we install

the other option is to install cheap bargain brand, builders model equipment and accept the fact that it is disposable. I usually go this route when the owners are frugal or the location is doomed to get pounded by waves on occasion.

Great application for Goodman

adsil works pretty good, don't they make microguard in the netherlands?

BronzGlow works pretty good.

Heresite works if the coils are dipped in it and it gets baked on, I have not had any success with field applied heresite.

All copper coils CAN be durable.

I was not overly impressed with Electrofin

Thank AbbyNormal for the info, but we have Carrier as our supplier and the coastal area is the mediterranean sea.

RE: protective coatings on ACCU in coastal area's

Carrier is offering spine fin all (tube &fins)aluminum condensers. We have to see how it has corrosion protection against sea & salty atmosphere.

RE: protective coatings on ACCU in coastal area's

Carrier spine fin is a new one to me, I believe they were unsuccessful with it years back.

Get Carrier to send it out to get 'Microguarded', they do this for me. My coastal arera is a caribbean island.

Get E-coating done if it's Cu/Cu or Cu/Al coils.  It will last much longer.  Or use the all-aluminium MCHX coils.  They are much better, since they eliminate galvanic corrosion
