NX Cavity/Core Creation w/out Mold Wizard
NX Cavity/Core Creation w/out Mold Wizard
(OP)
Hi all,
I'm looking for advice on how to create a cavity and core without using mold wizard. I'm initially thinking starting with a blank assembly, then inserting the part to be molded, one blank template for the cavity, and one blank template for the core. I'd then create a block based on stock sizes for the cavity and core. After the parting is determined how would you create the cavity/core surfaces?
I unfortunately will not have access to NX until I start my new job after the holidays; I'm trying to be prepared beforehand.
Thanks!

Sometimes the core passes the parting line a good opportunity to try out extrude until selected. Yet another way might be to extract a region from your linked body and patch that back onto the tool after the subtraction.
