Hiding Witness Lines

Hiding Witness Lines

Hiding Witness Lines

(OP)
Using Solidworks 2008;

Does anyone know how to hide (one or both) witness lines on a dimension?

Any response will be greatly appreciated!

RE: Hiding Witness Lines

Extension line? - you can control this from the dimension properties dialogue under Dimension Display

No not the extension line, the arrow tail?

RE: Hiding Witness Lines

Right click on the witness line you want to hide and choose "hide dimension line".  Same applies for extension lines.

I only see "Hide Extension Line". I have "Service Pack 0" installed, can this be the problem?

RE: Hiding Witness Lines

Go into Document Properties and change the arrow "tail" to .00000040. Create a Favorite with that setting. Change the "tail" back to your default. Go back into your drawing and use the Favorite on the selected dimensions.

I want to hide a dimension line on an angular dimension, but the "Hide Dimension Line" option doesn't seem to be available for angular dimensions.

RE: Hiding Witness Lines

Can you link a note to the dimension and then hide the entire dimension?

Eric

RE: Hiding Witness Lines

It should be available for angular dimensions as well.  You have to click on the dimension line, not the dimension itself.
