?How to Wire 220v 1ph Motor for 120V 1ph?
?How to Wire 220v 1ph Motor for 120V 1ph?
(OP)
I have a dual voltage Howell International Inc Plainfield,NJ. The motor is wired for 220 volts. The part no. 38J1151001 69B265. 3/4 HP 1725 RPM. It is used in a machine tool application.
It appears Howell is out of business.
Does any one know how to wire it?
Thanks.

The motor leads are numbered. Thanks to "Jbartos" I was able to call the manufacturer and get a diagram. Unfortunately the wiring diagram they have is for colored wires and not numbers. Is there a standard?
The Wiring of the motor is as follows. #1 connected to Green Lead, 8 to Black Lead, 5 to Red Lead, #2 to #3 and #4 -White Lead.
Can some help me again.
Thank you

Confirm that 1&2 have continuity as does 3 to 4.
For 110 volts the two runs are in parallel.
1 & 3 to Green and 2 & 4 to White
5 & 8 are the starts and would stay with the red & black.
If the motor rotates in the wrong direction swap 5&8.
