Spacing of Screw Piles

Spacing of Screw Piles

Spacing of Screw Piles

(OP)
Hi All,

I'm sizing up a 3 pile pilecap supported on screw piles. Anyone aware of the minimum spacing of piles that can be adopted?

Thanks in advance

RE: Spacing of Screw Piles

2009 IBC 1810.2.5 says analyze group effects on axial behavior where the center-to-center spacing of the deep foundation elements is less than three times the least horizontal dimension of an element.
For a 3 pile footing I would batter them slightly outwards for lateral so spacing would not be critical.

RE: Spacing of Screw Piles

We typically used (Spain) 3.5 diameters, and 2.5 as a minimum. On exceptional causes I have seen some at 2 diameters (all on axes).
