Backwards compatibility

(OP)
On the SoildWorks forum someone has asked about backwards compatibility.
Now that there is no history and not much in the way of features to worry about in Sync mode, can ST1 open an ST2 file?

bc.
2.4GHz Core2 Quad, 4GB RAM,
Quadro FX4600.

RE: Backwards compatibility

> can ST1 open an ST2 file?

no, it can't. BTW: features are still there but now they are
merely a collection of faces rather than being atomic as
in trad. mode. There are other internal things that prevent
opening an ST2 file in ST1. One might be marketing (sell
upgrades) the other might have its roots in different
representation of the same feature in a newer release.
