Semi-tubular rivet specs

Semi-tubular rivet specs

(OP)
Greetings,
For a Semi-tubular rivet, is there a specification as to the condition of the formed end of the rivet.  Such as, if I was inspecting parts connected with a Semi-tubular rivet what guidelines dictate a pass / fail for the formed end.  I have found much information on the rivets(ASME B18.7) but nothing on inspection criterion of the formed end.  We are experiencing cracking and material tearing after forming (setting the rivet).  The rivet we use is Brass hardness below B60, diameter 0.085" length 0.460".  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

RE: Semi-tubular rivet specs

Check which brass is being used. Some are rather brittle.
