Station service transformer sizing

Station service transformer sizing

(OP)
How can I choose station service transformer is adequate for particular transformer? I kanow major load on st. service from Power transformer fan load.

RE: Station service transformer sizing

As long as you know what your fan load, and any other AC supply loads to the main power transformer are, you can determine the size of the station service transformer you will need.

RE: Station service transformer sizing

I would do a quick diversity study or measure your load over time if the transformer is currently in service.  I usually add an additional 25% capacity for thing such as multiple fan s starting at once and the fact that transformers are often fitted with extra monitoring equipment over time.  It's also nice to have some local power available when doing maintenance in the sub.
