allowable bearing loads?

allowable bearing loads?

allowable bearing loads?

(OP)
I'm trying to analyze loads on connecting rod and main bearings in reciprocating engines.  I've had moderate success in finding information on allowable bearing loads however, I'm having difficultly with two things:

1.) How is allowable load defined?
2.) Where can I find information regarding allowable loads for aluminum, bronze babbitt, and tri-metal bearings?

Some information suggests allowable load refers to the fatigue strength at elevated temperatures ( 200 – 250F ), and the limited amount of published information on google is not cited very well.

Thanks for the help.

RE: allowable bearing loads?

forward your questions to the ICE mfg . . .  be sure to correspond with the technical guru and not some sales person.

good luck!
