How to enter equations in dimensions in SW2010?
How to enter equations in dimensions in SW2010?
(OP)
Hi all,
I'm new to SW, but used Inventor for 5 yrs.
Is there any way you can enter equations in dimensions similar to Inventor (type in i.e. d0+10 or 5+2+3*2). Is there any functions table, where you can see all parameters assigned? In inventor all dimensions are added to this table as you add them.
Cheers,
Marius

I see it isn't as simple as inventor though, where you can just click another dim and it will link. (and use in further equations if required). Maybe something for the wishlist?

there's also tables but I'm not sure where they are
yeah, it's not as quick as Inventor on equation dims or linking 2 dims

Do the dimension like a normal dimension
then double click & it will bring a small dialog box called "Modify" where you can change the value of dimension,
here click on the down arrow on the right hand side of text. It will give you 2 options 1. add equation 2. Link Value
Now click on the Add equation & it will bring another dialouge box where the dimension you are editting is already in left side of "=" sign so add whatever you want on the right hand side. you can add another dimension by clicking on it. Makr sure you have made the sketch visible if you wanna dd from other sketck or feature.
hope this helps.
