Displacement loads varying along a line in abaqus

Displacement loads varying along a line in abaqus

(OP)
Hello,

I want to apply a displacement load, which is continuously varying as a function of space, to a stress analysis model in ABAQUS.

I know displacements can be applied to ABAQUS models as boundary conditions but is there a way to allow the magnitude of the applied displacement to vary along a line?

Thanks
CJM

RE: Displacement loads varying along a line in abaqus

How about utilising user subroutine DISP?

RE: Displacement loads varying along a line in abaqus

In Abaqus/CAE just create an "analytical field" - there is a create button next to the distribution combo-box in the GUI. The function can be any valid python expression, refer to global or local CSYS, i.e. it's very flexible!

It's been there for quite a while... V6.7 IIRC ;)
