2009 display states not available?

2009 display states not available?

2009 display states not available?

(OP)
The introduction of SW2009 highlighted a range of improvements as each release does. One highly noted was the  use of display states. I recently tried to take advantage of this feature by creating an assembly with display states showing the expected part addition per operation. This assembly was brought into the next level with the idea being the display states can be selected depending on what we want the part to look like during the operation. Seems exactly what he feature is designed for. Only one problem, the displayy states are grayed out in the component properties of the top level and cannot be changed. VAR says its a known bug fixed in SW2010.   If I remove all added display states and add configuratiions to resolve/suppress desired parts, will there be a performannce change?. thanks

SW2009 sp3

RE: 2009 display states not available?

Display states are faster than configurations, but really it depends on the size of your assembly and computer Horsepower... most of the time you would really not see much of a performance difference, but if its a HUGE assembly, then that would be different.
