thread281-118153: Machining Garolite
It's been a while since I posted the question on machining Garolite G 10, and tips were helpful. Now we've graduated to G-11. Presently researching diamond tooling? It will be 12 in. dia. , 1 " thick on lathe. Must take most of the material out inside, about .960 deep, leaving about .035 thick bottom with .5oo outside wall. Will probably loc-tite to aluminum plate to keep bottom solid. Any ideas?

You might like a regular hot-melt stick adhesive better.
Or check with Reid's. I think there are some releasable adhesive films made just for faceplate machining.

To do the machining the best approach would be a tool-post grinder with lots of coolant. A milling machine with a rotary table could also be used.
