Storage of VSD's
Storage of VSD's
(OP)
Has anyone stored a vsd for over 5 yrs without powering.
I know these vsd have to be primed started - to be able to allow for capacitor forming. Has anyone got any idea in general how to do this? Use a triac to start at low voltage ? I have heard of people connecting 3 big light bulbs (1000W) in series with the supply l1 l2 l3.
Any tips for long storage of VSD ?
Do we have to power them up every 3 months ? Any recommendations ?

RE: Storage of VSD's
After running and once the drives have cooled down, ensure there is no dust build up inside the drives. They do tend to attract dust. If you can seal them up with hygroscopic bags to absorb any moisture then even better. Keep in an environment that is stable in temperature and cool without freezing. It's like storing wine in a way but not as enjoyable.
