MicroSCADA & LON relays time synchronization
MicroSCADA & LON relays time synchronization
(OP)
Does someone know if it is possible to have Microscada do the time synchronization of the relays when they are connected in a LON network using RER 111 star coupler? I know there is an option card for RER 111, but since MSCADA is already time synced using NTP server, I'm thinking about distributing that time to LON communicating relays.
Any information would be highly appreciated. :)

RE: MicroSCADA & LON relays time synchronization
NO problem.
It's work fine.
Of course is better optional card to RER111, but we have a very good expirience without ( actually..never used it
You need only set into MicroSCADA time synchronization to PCLTA cards ( RER107+PCLTA20 set).
What is a number of PCLTA cards in your computer?

RE: MicroSCADA & LON relays time synchronization
I have a hybrid system in mind. It should include an old RTU connected to MSCADA over IEC 104 protocol, several new REC 670 bay control units in an IEC 61850 network and about a dozen existing protection devices in a LON network.
MSCADA and REC units should be synced using Meinberg M300 NTP server. RTU has its own GPS subsystem.
I'm thinking about doing a similar thing in another substation already equiped with a redundant MSCADA Pro system. So each SYS 600 server will have its own PCLTA card connected to RER 111.

Be careful, you must use only one time synchronization master in the same time.
Maybe, it will be easier for you add SLCM card to RER111 and connect it to Meinberg.

Check as well data transfer between both systems.
Good Luck.
