Display of Annotations in Assembly from Part Level Models

Display of Annotations in Assembly from Part Level Models

(OP)
I have an assembly that is created with models parts.  One of the parts is a screw downloaded off of the McMaster Carr website.

On my assembly level, I would like to display annotations that I select at the assembly level, but I do not wish to have all annotations displayed from the part level.  Is this possible to do?

When I open up the part file of the screw, annotation viewing is off which is ok.  But when imported into my assembly model with annotations on, all the annotations from the part level of the screw are back on.

How can this be surpressed, while still allowing me to create new annotations at the assembly level.
