ACI 318- 05 : Load Factor for Seismic Loading

ACI 318- 05 : Load Factor for Seismic Loading

ACI 318- 05 : Load Factor for Seismic Loading

(OP)
Hi :

I am designing anchor bolts per ACI 318-05. I have seismic g loading's of 0.6g in horizontal and vertical direction per IBC 2003, and this is the only load I have to consider. What load factor do I use for my calculations per ACI 318-05 ?

RE: ACI 318- 05 : Load Factor for Seismic Loading

If you are using the Factored design approach, you would use 1.0.

The seismic demands provided in the IBC are ultimate seismic values.

If you are using the allowable stress method within ACI 318, then you would use 0.7E for your seismic.
