Lithium ion battery below 1.5V
Lithium ion battery below 1.5V
(OP)
I am doing some R&D work and I need to source some rechargeable batteries with a fast response time for pulsed output current. About 1 amp.
Lithium ion seem to be best for our application however they seem to be available at 3V and over.
Must be less than 1.5V and over 1000 mAh. Cant use extra electronics to adapt 3V batteries.
Also looking into caps.
Can anyone help me source Lithium ion rechargeable below 1.5V.
Thanks in advance

Without outside electronics, I don't think Li-Ion is the proper chemistry. The cathode voltage alone is double your 1.5V limit, so you're probably barking up the wrong tree.

If you have control over when the pulsing happens use any junker battery and a capacitor to support the pulse.

The standard NiMH AA battery is rated at 2400 mAh, but you could get that, or a D, and supplement with a capacitor as itsmoked suggests.
