LTB for Cantilever Beams for CAN/CSA-S16
(OP)
Does the Canadian steel code have any special considerations for lateral torsional buckling of cantilever beams? While I am not familiar with AISC, I believe AISC makes a special allowance for cantilever beams. I have not found a similar allowance in CAN/CSA-S16.

At least AISC gives some references in the commentary which turned out to be quite useful. One was Structural Stability of Steel by Galambos. I also found a text book, Behaviour and Design of Steel Structures to BS 5950 by Nethercot. Both look at the stability of a cantilever and the orientation of the load and tip supports (if any) and apply factors to the unbraced length to account for the unstability.
