Model Tree Symbology

Model Tree Symbology

RE: Model Tree Symbology

It just means it's a subassembly of a larger assembly.  It has the extension of ".asm" in the part name.

Fighterpilot - I'm not referring to the coloured prt/asm indicators. If you look closer, against some of the parts/assemblies there are icons that resemble two black unfilled squares - a bit like what you see if the item is 'packaged' (packaged being denoted by a single unfilled black square)

Ok I have worked it out - it denotes the prt/asm is a child of a packaged item

RE: Model Tree Symbology

The denote various states on 'un-contrained-ness" (for want of a better phrase.
I have yet to fint a table of what all the different little symbols mean.

RE: Model Tree Symbology

p.s. sorry for the typos!

RE: Model Tree Symbology

When in doubt, right click on the feature in the model tree and select Info>Feature.  Here there will be a comments section that will explain the nature of the problem.

In your case the double square icon indicates that the feature is "Child of Packaged".  This happens when things are referencing things that are not fully constrained.  You need to go back and either "Fix" the feature, or reconstrain the original.  If you dont, they may not stay where you want them.
