Hi,

I want to highlight machined surfaces by altering their color.  I'm editing an existing model that already contains several highlighted machined surfaces, but I cannot figure out how highlight new machined features.

How do I change the color of machined surfaces?

RE: Machined surface color

You need to change the selection focus from Solid to faces/surfaces.

Hi Ben,

I can select the surfaces.  But I would also like to permanently change their color, so that all machined surfaces are gray and all non-machined surfaces are green (not sure if that was clear from my post).  Is that done by changing the selection focus?

Where do I change the selection focus?

I got it now.  Thanks.

RE: Machined surface color

What I do is go into insert mode after the cast part is merged in and change all solid surfaces at that point to a color. Then any subsequent cuts would be the default color of the part.
