Where to record values on VFD Circuit

Where to record values on VFD Circuit

Where to record values on VFD Circuit

(OP)
Hi there,

I am trying to determine the actual Kw cost of a motor being run via a VFD.

Where is the best place to measure the values I and V as there is differnces on the incoming supply to the load side of the VFD?

Thanks in advance.
Thomas

RE: Where to record values on VFD Circuit

Since actual kWh cost, not kW cost, is measured on the line side, that is where to put your kWh meter.

Measuring V and I won't help much. Nor will measuring kW. Unless it is very constant over time. Cost is energy based and that is kWh.
