saving solid edge parts

saving solid edge parts

saving solid edge parts

if i open a solid edge assembly, then save it, the upper-case file names change to lower case, and it leaves the .par  and .asm in the file names, can i set some sort of save options to fix this, or do i need to clone assembly (hope not)

RE: saving solid edge parts

This would probably be better directed to the Solid Edge forum.

RE: saving solid edge parts

Are you opening the solid edge assembly in NX?

RE: saving solid edge parts

(OP)
yes, that's right, i want to work on it with NX

RE: saving solid edge parts

As for embedding the old SE extensions in the new names, I doubt that you will be able to automatically avoid that.  As for the upper/lower case issue, you might want to look at the setting of the environment variable 'UGII_OPTION=' in the 'ugii_env.dat' file (not sure if this will have any effect, but it's the only thing I can think of).

so it looks like i should specify the variable to be "UPPER"
You'd think that with nothing set (as it is) it wouldn't have changed them from upper to lower, but,I'll give it a try, thanks..
