Suspension data for Australian AU/VT sedans
Suspension data for Australian AU/VT sedans
(OP)
Hi,
I'm chasing some info on the AU Falcon and VT Commodore sedans in Australia - Mainly suspension information so I can get a better understanding on how to set them up for racing.
Would anyone know if information such as suspension hardpoints would be available anywhere in the public domain?
I have an old Susprog3D file which has both the AU and VT but they look like V8 Supercars (since they have about 5deg of camber) and as such I think the hardpoints will be different to a standard sedan.
I have a friend who is intending on racing one of these vehicles in a sedan class in Perth next year so I became interested in understanding how to deal with them as a racing car. This is mainly for my own interest but I would like to see if there is any 'engineering' one can do to make the suspension and chassis a bit more suitable for the racing tyre.
Regards
Tim

RE: Suspension data for Australian AU/VT sedans
Are you talking about AU live axle or IRS? Guessing live axle, you should be able to measure it with a tape measure to a sufficient degree of accuracy.
I'd have thought there was no question about which front end to use.

I'm actually not to familiar with the harware on the AU or the class rules for that matter. My guess would be the live axle rear end. As for the front I'm not sure.
Thanks for the advice on the body shop too. I'm working in Germany for now but I think I have a contact in a body shop back home.
Don't suppose you would have any contacts who could provide hardpoints without being fired??
