PEEQ Explanation

PEEQ Explanation

(OP)
To All,

I know that equivalent plastic strain that you output using PEEQ command is cumulative, positive, scaler quatity but does it increase everytime the strain goes above yield or when it exceeds the previous max value. Assume you have a cyclic compressive load on an element.  The load stays in compression the entire time never goes into tension.  Would the PEEQ results keep increasing while the instantaneous strain cycle back and forth to the max value.

I am looking into some resutls and I don't have any experience with abaqus, any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Raheel
