Electric Motor what does ANF stand for

Electric Motor what does ANF stand for

Electric Motor what does ANF stand for

(OP)
We are attempting to interpret the nameplate data on a 700 HP motor and
wanted to see if you could help.  An aluminum smelter bought a used
Allis Chalmers 4160 volt, 700 HP Type ANF motor per the nameplate data  We are having trouble determining what type ANF
is.  We will use the type to determine the locked rotor amps so that we
can calculate the flicker.  The motor will be used in a shredder/hammer
mill installation.

The following is the information on the motor
Allis Chalmers Serial 45460
HP 700
RPM 697
Service Factor 1.0
Volts 4160
Amps 100
Load Resistance
Type Anf

My question what does the ANF stand for

Thanks in advance for any help

RE: Electric Motor what does ANF stand for

I guess it is the cooling type : ANF = Air Natural / Forced i.e. via shaft coupled fan!!

I am not specialized in such sized motors, I just guess!

RE: Electric Motor what does ANF stand for

The type Anf may refer to the frame type, the cooling type, or something else. To answer your question you would need to know the LRA (locked rotor amps) or the kVA code. These values are found on some nameplates.
