Non-Threaded Countersunk Holes in Pro E?

Non-Threaded Countersunk Holes in Pro E?

Non-Threaded Countersunk Holes in Pro E?

(OP)
Hello,

I'm trying to figure out a way to make countersunk holes that are not threaded. It seems like the only way Pro E allows you to counter sink holes is if you define the thread size. Do anyone know of a way that I can create a countersink to a plain hole? I would appreciate any help that anyone can give. thanks.

RE: Non-Threaded Countersunk Holes in Pro E?

Which version of Pro/E are you using?

In Wildfire 3 or less, the only way to do so is to use a tapped hole, set it to thru all, and remove the thread (icon shown in image attachment - image is of Wildfire 4 dashboard).

If you use the smallest thread size, you will be able to manually adjust the countersink size - or you can just use the thread size that you want the hole for.

I am using Pro/E Wildfire 2.0.  I can't seem to find the "remove thread icon".  Which one is it?

Ok.  I got figured out how to remove the thread, but the note defining the Tap is still there.  I realize that I can hide that part of the note.  Really all I'm trying to do is have a smooth drilled hole that has a counter sink.  It seems like it required me to chose a Tap, when all I really want to define is the diameter of the drilled hole and the dimensions of the countersink.  Is there anyway to manually input drill bit size without having Pro E default to a value based on the Tap?  Thanks.

Here is a "long" way but it will definitly work. Revolve the countersink hole you want with your desired dimensions. Then in drawing mode you can create a dynamic note by adding these dimensions to the note as shown in the attached pic. It is faster to use the switch dimesion in the info menu in drawing view than it is to look up the feature info in model view. This technique is a very useful workaround when you cant get drawings to do what you want and still desire dynamic notes.

Note: I used a couterbore hole in my example but its the same concept.

you could also construct a sketched hole
This is in the hole feature
