power supply transformer
power supply transformer
(OP)
Hi there,
I have to design three phase transformer for power supply: 13000VDC @ 10ADC, cap filtered.
Using capacitor filter always makes me nervous because of figuring transformer's secondary voltage and current.
Is it OK if I calculate Us=0.74*UDC , Is=0.816*Idc , and because of cap filter increase transformer's kVA about 50% ?
Thanks,

RE: power supply transformer
But if you need voltage to stay well regulated as load changes, you may need to do better. What are your specs?
It is a rather big unit. It may pay to contact a specialist company.
