Replace part in Vault

Replace part in Vault

Replace part in Vault

(OP)
I serached the help, I couldnt find.
I have a assembly & all its part & drawings checked into PDM works/Vault (Not Enterprise PDM). How do I replace a part (All instances) with another new part?

RE: Replace part in Vault

(OP)
Unfortunate.
There should have been a way to handle parts in the vault directly. This is one the basic PDM action.

RE: Replace part in Vault

if possible, give the new part same name as the old one & check it in.

If needed check out the old one first & rename it before renaming the new one. that way you will have the old part as well.

Cheers

RE: Replace part in Vault

Gurjjeet's suggestion will work, with one caveat: the models will be intact if, and only if, the replacing part is similar in design to the replaced part. Otherwise you'll have broken mates, etc. to deal with. Just something to think about. It's a working method if you're very, very, very careful.

RE: Replace part in Vault

ITs not worth it to me then... it would be easier to check out replae the part make sure its correct, check back in and roll the revision back.
