thread605-58867: Foaming problem in generator seal oil?

Your main seal oil pump suction flange is leaking. Air is being drawn into tank do to the vacuum.(29")If you shutdown the main seal oil pump and run on the D.C back-up pump which bypasses the seal tank, you will be able to see air bubbles in vacumm tank sight glass. tighten flange and or replace gasket. One way to verify this is to pour a cup of oil over flange while looking at oil in tank bubbling will stop.

RE: foam in seal oil tank

I'm going to take a guess that after six years the problem has either been fixed or isn't a problem any more.
