Spacepilot & 64Bit Machine

Spacepilot & 64Bit Machine

(OP)
I'm going for a pre-emptive strike with this question....

Does anyone know of any issues with running a Spacepilot on a 64 bit machine?

At long last I'm getting upgraded from my 32bit system but I'm currently running the original Spacepilot driver that was supplied with it 3 years ago.  I did try installing an updated driver from the 3D Connexion website but the newer version seemed to have lost a lot of its functionality so I reverted to the driver supplied on the CD.

I'll be running WF2 & WF4 on XP, not got any more details of the machine yet.

Cheers.

RE: Spacepilot & 64Bit Machine

You are probably talking about the Disneyified graphic interface which takes what used to be simple and makes it a lot harder to accomplish. IF you already have your Custom Functions recorded for the old interface you can manually paste them into the new Spaceball ConfiG config files because they are not compatable file types.

If you still have your saved configs. user##.scg files in your profiles directory under the original driver directory save those and open with Text editor.

If you look for the text BUTTON_CHARACTERS in the file you will see the recorded data similar to a proe mapkey

the orsder of buttons can be set by modifying the Button_### values.

As for switching modes and working for microsoftt and other programs I've seen some trouble with that but it may be driven by those products versions.

I'm not sure if 64bit causes issues or has separate drivers but they will most likely be the new lame formatted UI.
