Cv determination testing in Chicago area

Cv determination testing in Chicago area

(OP)
I'm looking for some one to help with flow testing to determine Cv values. Valves range in size from 1/2" to 12" inlet & outlet.  Have varrious connection types, socket weld, butt weld, threaded, flanged.  I would prefer someone in the Chicago area.  Thanks in advance.

RE: Cv determination testing in Chicago area

Sorry,
      at the moment I can only indicate Laboratories in Europe only, see for example:
        -   http://www.siet.it/loadXML.asp?pag=valv_indu,
        -   thread408-114236: Institutes/laboratoria for valve testing;
        -   thread408-163274: Ext. Lab's for valve FIRE testing (in ITALY or near).

      In the USA I konow this one:
        -   http://www.yarmouthresearch.com/services.html
but it's quite far from Chicago, too..

Regards,   'NGL

RE: Cv determination testing in Chicago area

12 inch is pretty big.  Not many places can handle flow testing that large.  Try Alden Labs.  In Massachusetts.

RE: Cv determination testing in Chicago area

The hydraulic laboratories of the UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS AT URBANA-CHAMPAIGN might be a little closer for this inquirer, if they could do this work (see   http://vtchl.uiuc.edu/).  [If too "big" for them, Utah State University could probably handle.]

RE: Cv determination testing in Chicago area

I second the prior posts, Alden is capable of flow testing a 12" valve, so is Utah Water Research Lab.  I have worked with both of those places and they know what they are doing.  If the valves are Fisher designs, contact a Fisher representative and see if you can get them tested at the new Fisher flow lab, they can do up to 36" valves now.
