Motor control

Motor control

(OP)
Goodmorning

I wanted to have some help here.I work for a compny and we have two motor that conected to a baldor driver. And when they both run I can hold one motor. What is the problem The gear box is ratio 5 and both horsepower motor is 1/3.

RE: Motor control

There is some missing information here. Do you not have enough torque to turn the load? I had the same problem one time because the mecanical engineer put too small of a gear ratio. To get the driven speed that we needed the VFD had to be turned down so far that the motor lost torque. Keep in mind that most drives cannot supply torque below 15 percent of the nameplate RPM.

RE: Motor control

Actually, start before that.
AC or DC?
Assuming AC, Standard motor or Servo?
Are the motors identical?
Vector control or V/Hz? (Hint, you cannot implement vector control on multiple motors off of the same drive).
Clutch or other mechanical slip device between the motor and the shaft you are grabbing?
