Groups of nodes

(OP)
Is there a way in NX6 Simulation to create groups of nodes only?  It seems that adding nodes to a group currently brings along all of the elements attached to those nodes - and all of the nodes attached to those elements, whether I want them or not.

Quick example: Say I want to merge a few nodes, and some of these nodes also correspond to coincident spring elements. Displaying a group of these nodes will then also display coincident nodes that I don't want to merge. Even though I know all the labels of the nodes I'd like to merge, it seems that NX only lets you merge nodes that you select from the screen. If there is any way to do this with groups, it would make the job a bit easier...
