Importing data into Excel spreadsheet

Importing data into Excel spreadsheet

Importing data into Excel spreadsheet

(OP)
I have a very large excel file that I frequently need to access over a dialup server connection that is very slow. Instead of pulling up the whole file, I would like to make a second excel file that will pull in, say the last 30 rows entered into main spreadsheet,(the main spreadsheet also has 5 worksheets in it). I would then be able to call up the new spreadsheet from home over dialup connection and get the spreadsheet data that is most current.
How would I set up this second spreadsheet file?

RE: Importing data into Excel spreadsheet

Open a new spreadsheet.  From the toolbar, select data, get external data, new data query. Then select from the data tab "excel file".  Browse to find the file in question.  Follow the instructions with the wizard.  I am using excel 2000.  Good luck!
