Torque Value for Graphite Press Seal

Torque Value for Graphite Press Seal

Torque Value for Graphite Press Seal

(OP)
Hello,

I am replacing the gold plated pressure seal gasket on a 20" inch stop check valve(Rockwell Edwards 4007 model)with a graphite seal.

The pressure seal bonnet and graphite seal ring are pulled up tight with the 1" bonnet retainer studs.

Will the torque values on the retainer nuts be the same or should it be lowered? There was some concern that the graphite might be extruded with the same torque.

Thank you,  Tod

Hi todcaesar

I can't answer from the little information you have provided but I would talk to the seal supplier.
