Mesh World

Mesh World

Mesh World

(OP)
Hello.

I am trying to edit facets on an imported mesh in ProE W4, but have a situation that is best described by the following simplified example.  Imagine you have a mesh sphere.  Then outside of that you have another mesh sphere that is close in diameter to the first.  Now imagine that the model has a problem where a very small crease in the outer sphere has caused that surface to pucker and fold in on itself in that region, so that a set of facets exist between the two spheres.  I want to delete those facets and fill the resulting hole in the outer sphere.  In any other program like Lightwave or whatever, you can hide the unimportant facets so that you can clearly see and concentrate on the region you need to fix.  Is my world crumbling before me, such that PTC does not offer this same basic functionality?!mad  I mean...it's such a basic thing to hide facets.  I hate the prospect of having to take this thing into another program just to do this without a lot of headache, when PTC should already realize how basic and fundamental this is.

Otherwise, I'll have to be extremely careful as I wade through the wireframe view maze in order to pick out those nasty facets and delete them, being careful not to touch the good ones.sad

Please tell me I'm wrong, and that the world really is a perfect place where everything runs perfectly.smile

Much obliged.
