Can anyone give me a good reference book for electrical installation in hazardous locations?  Defines need for seal offs, types of conduit, etc.

RE: Hazardous Location Wiring

Kinda helps if you say where in the world you are and which legislation you are working to. Normally when people don't say where they are it means that they are in the USA, but if you tell us it saves guessing.

Yes USA.

RE: Hazardous Location Wiring

Well, the National Electrical Code is a good place to start, since it contains the requirements that must be followed.  There is a NEC Handbook published by NFPA that is a good way to understand what the NEC is telling you.

You might check Crouse-Hinds website - they should have some technical info.

RE: Hazardous Location Wiring

Crouse Hines has their Code Digest on the web.
look up Crouse Hines and Appelton on the web. Find your local Rep and ask for a copy of the Crouse Hines Code Digest and the Appelton Code Digest. They are the best references you can get.
