Template with geometry object

Template with geometry object

Template with geometry object

(OP)
Hi everybody we are using CamExpress [NX6] for our dieshop next to hypermill and solidworks. My question with respect to NX, I have a template part with all settings predefined and menus customised to serve our needs. Is it also possible to define a engraving text [logo] and some variable [expression depending] points for drilling. So the geo-entities should be in the blank part after selecting the configuration/template. However at the moment it is not.
Any solutions. Kind Regards, Bert

RE: Template with geometry object

The setup assembly part can have other components besides the target that is replaced by your work part. You should be able to put this type of geometry in a component.

Hi Mark, when selecting assembly setup, I can select the reference part. However the geometry within can change because it is used for :
- Stock/Blank
- Certain number of points only distance to center might differ
- Out logo as line/curve
Some of the operations refer to the points/curves/lines. Furthermore I attach additional gemetry for the actual part-machining, this using predefined perations.

Hope you can help me with this issue. Or is it more suitable to open the part with predefined as above mentioned and then do a save-as?

Thanks, Bert
