medium voltage switch?

medium voltage switch?

medium voltage switch?

(OP)
hi

I am trying to source a medium voltage switch, 3 pole, able to work at 3.6kv, 320mA.

any ideas appreciated

thanks

RE: medium voltage switch?

With only a 320ma load, how much contact resistance can you tolerate? Any kind of switch is going to have some, but it may or may not be significant. Only you can know that.

RE: medium voltage switch?

The smallest 5kV class switch I know of is 600A. What is the application?

RE: medium voltage switch?

What comes to my mind is whatever they use to control the output of a 5kV digital megger, or even a hi-pot test set.

RE: medium voltage switch?

Check out Kilovac's website. Now part of Tyco's empire, for better or worse. sad http://relays.tycoelectronics.com/kilovac/

RE: medium voltage switch?

Maybe the requirement is interrupting 320 mA of magnetizing current instead of a continuous rating.
