Modernization

(OP)
Would appreciate any insight/experiences on modernization of existing PTC packages? I am not sure how often PTC goes through their package modernization.
Does anyone have a good website where one can find out the differences in modules between old proe packages (like Flexible engineering, Flex3C) versus the new ones (Advanced Xe, Enterprise SE).
Thanks

RE: Modernization

They change the makeup of their packages fairly often.  Good luck finding any documentation.

Note that these changes are not retroactive.  If PTC add functionality to a package you bought last year, do not expect to get that functionality without paying for an upgrade.  If you do upgrade, be aware that you will pay additional maintenance on that upgrade year after year.

It is enough of a hassle that some sites drop maintenance for several years & then just buy new licenses all over again.  They typically get all the new capabilities at a lower price.

RE: Modernization

Here are 5 pdf files I got from PTC site or a VAR that shows what functionality is in each package. Your Reseller or PTC Partner that you buy software from may be able to cut you a mix-match deal like many other CAD companies do so check with them but these should help you pick better than flipping multiple coins.
