There are any kind of "pack and go" in solid edge?

There are any kind of "pack and go" in solid edge?

I want to create a back up DVD with an na assembly with a lot of sub-assemblies. i had already tried to copy to a dvd but then in the end i cannot open the assembly normally.

I opened tyhe project from DVD, with revision mannager and put alll the sub-assemblies open in the DVD directory.

SE only allows me to open "read only" if i open on other computer. How do i resolve that to open normally, like avaiable?

If I understand correctly, you want to open an assembly from a DVD and want it not to be in read only? If so, you can't do that because you can't directly write on a dvd has you would do on a hard drive or portable drive.

yes thats it. Thanks patrick!

So if i want to give that dvd to the main company, to they modify or update anything on the project, they would not be able to do that?

if they copy the dvd to a computer in the company they would have acess to all the project? or just work on my computer?

As Kenat said if they copy the files from the DVD to their own hard drive they will be able to modify and save. If you want to do so, make sure you copy all the files necessary not just an assembly or draft file.

If they want to send you back the modified model they will have to reburn the files to the DVD if it's a rewritable DVD or to burn a new one.

I assume you are talking about an assembly here. "Hitteam Tools" is a small program from a German company, it is free, that will gather all the relevant files in an assembly including things like parts from the SE parts library and export it as a stand alone file with no dependencies on any links. The resultant file will stand on it's own as fully functional. The drawback is that currently it is in German with an English translation supposedly on the way. It is not to hard to fugure out however and will save you from the grief SE will cause when trying to export a file that will actualy work on it's own and on another pc.
