A333 and A334
(OP)
All,
A333 and A334 are selected as material for LTCS item (-40 degree C).
However, CLIENT request KCS.
In accordance with ASTM specification for A333 and A334, these material is not specified as KCS.
exactly, it is not specified this is KCS or not.
Are A333 and A334 the KCS?
Please let me know the reference if these are KCS.
thanks,
Xeros

RE: A333 and A334
The same can be said for A-334; Grade 1 may not be fully silicon killed, Grade 6 is.
RE: A333 and A334
If you review the chemical composition requirements for both ASTM Specifications, KCS grades are those carbon steels that contain a specified silicon content range (usually above 0.10% mass percent) for deoxidation.
RE: A333 and A334
we generally know that A333 gr.6 and A334 gr.6 are KCS.
However, it is difficult for verification because it is not specified in ASTM or ASME specification.
For example, A516 is specified as killed CS in ASTM or ASME specification.
therefore, i want to know the reference that A333 and A334 (Gr.6) is KCS.

The best I could come up with is the following website link which reinforces metengr's note but being a website, it probably wouldn't carry any weight with your client?
