Just a survey for reference;

Can Wildfire have two or more files open of the same name but from different folders?

Word can, but Excel and SW cannot.

RE: Opening files of the same name but different folder.

Pro/E cannot.
Neither can NX.

IF you can get a second session running, you may be able to the same part, but usually that is also a tricky feat.

RE: Opening files of the same name but different folder.

You can use the Analysis/compare part functionality to open a different version of the same part from the same or different folders.  Pro/E will prompt you for a unique temporary name for the second version.

RE: Opening files of the same name but different folder.

I run multiple sessions of pro-e and I can open files of the same name in different folders.

Thank you all.

RE: Opening files of the same name but different folder.

SrG, how do you make sure you save the correct version?

I like that Pro/E prompts you to rename the file when opened a 2nd time. I mostly do this to review what was there before whatever dificulty created problems showed up. I would hate to have spent time correcting a problem, only to file the wrong version. Renaming the reference version makes it safer.
