API pipe welds

API pipe welds

(OP)
Hello,
I'm looking for dimensional info for the weld seam on pipes. Before I purchase the spec API 1104 can anyone verify that it has dimensions about the size of the weld. If not can anyone point me to a spec that might have these dimensions?
Thanks in advance.

-Pete

RE: API pipe welds

API 1104 is for joining the pipes together.  Weld dimensions of the longitudinal or helical seam of the pipe are governed by pipe manufacturing standards such as API Spec 5L.

RE: API pipe welds

Perhaps ISO 3183 as well (ISO equivalent of API 5L)
