Corrosion for Steels
Corrosion for Steels
(OP)
Can you please advice on the type of steel that can be exposed to a wet environment and not corrode as easily as other type of metals?
These are the options I am currently looking into:
1. Hot Dip Galvanized Steel
2.Stainless Steel
Please advise

RE: Corrosion for Steels
Well stainless steel grade 316l is good for corrosion resistance without any covering, however it also depends on the wet enviroment the steel is in and also how and what it is connected to.
If you put stainless with ordinary carbon steel in a wet enviroment you can set up electrolytic corrosion.
Galvanising ordinary steel is good too and possibly cheaper than stainless can you tell us a bit more about what your trying to do.

I think the galvanised steel would be okay.
