Low Volume/High Pressure Spring Hydraulic Accumulator
Low Volume/High Pressure Spring Hydraulic Accumulator
(OP)
Hi guys, I'm not a hydraulics guy by any stretch, so please forgive me if this is a fundamentally dumb question. I'm working on a concept that requires (ideally) the use of a spring-loaded (floating) piston type hydraulic accumulator with a capacity in the 50cc-75cc range and pressure capability up to ~1500psi.
My application specifically benefits from the use of a mechanical spring to allow manipulation of the pressure/displacement curve, so that's a must-have. I've searched the web quite a bit, but haven't found the right company/product yet. Seems the bladder type accumulators are more popular, and any piston-types that I've found use compressed gas for the spring. I may be able to modify something like that for my use, but would prefer an off-the-shelf part. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mikah B.

I was hoping to find a selection of existing spring-type accumulators where I could select the bore that would be the best fit for my prototype (~1.125"). At this stage, I'm just looking for parts that are close enough to put together a proof-of-concept model, if it flies and we build them commercially, we'll end up having to either make or buy custom parts to make it work right.
Anyway, thanks for your input and still hoping somebody can steer me towards a spring accumulator supplier!

We had some accumulators that looked like shock absorbers with an external accumulator. I can't recall the name on the components.
