Biosolids Sliding Frame Silos
Biosolids Sliding Frame Silos
(OP)
We're looking at biosolids storage silos for 23% aerobically digested WAS. If anyone has practical experience with sliding frame (push floor) silos can they comment on their effectiveness, does the product deteriorate through the mechanical workings of the outloading system etc.
Thanks

RE: Biosolids Sliding Frame Silos
The hydraulic rams have also caused problems, especially with wet heavey sludge and have jammed on a number of occassions resulting in very expensive repairs. How do you plan to get you cake into the silo? Also in term of unloading, will the silo base be at ground level and then a conveyor taking up to load trucks? Or, will the silo be evelaated to allow trucks to drive underneath it for loading?

Thanks for your observations. We plan to have an elevated silo for direct loading into trucks in order to mitigate the amount of conveying. Inclined belt conveyors to get the product up to the silos.
